Out of the depths of my happy heart wells a great tide of love and prayer for this priceless treasure that is confided to my life-long keeping. You cannot see its intangible waves as they flow towards you, darling, but in these lines you will hear, as it were, the distant beating of the surf.

My dearest,
When two souls, which have sought each other for,
however long in the throng, have finally found each other …a union, fiery and pure as they themselves are… begins on earth and continues forever in heaven.
This union is love, true love, … a religion, which deifies the loved one, whose life comes from devotion and passion, and for which the greatest sacrifices are the sweetest delights.
This is the love which you inspire in me… Your soul is made to love with the purity and passion of angels; but perhaps it can only love another angel, in which case I must tremble with apprehension.
Victor Hugo (1821)

It’s about passion and expression
June 22, 2007
There’s so much more for us than pushing the shutter button. I think, for us, what we do is a way to express the passion we carry inside for life. There’s a need in us, in anyone who considers theirself an artist, to put our hearts out there for the world to see. I was very happy with the wedding last week, the one posted just below. But, I needed more. I needed to create something other than what I captured in the camera. I think it’s an “artist” thing. Christy spends hours on her images, putting what she feels into her work. I get “the urge” and have to take it to the next level. I don’t think we could work any other way; It’s who we are. It’s what we do.
You may see a couple of these images in their original state in the post below. This post is what I felt from those images.
I hope this makes sense, it’s hard to put into words.
Melanie and Devin’s wedding…
June 17, 2007
We shot a great wedding yesterday and couldn’t wait to post some of it. Melanie and Devin are both classical musicians and their wedding was amazing. For starters; Not only did Melanie’s dad walk her down the isle, he then, because he’s an ordained minister, performed the ceremony. That is usually above and beyond the call of duty, but he didn’t stop there. At just the right moment during the ceremony the entire band (that was on stage with the bridal party) kicked in and he sang “Unforgettable” to his daughter.
Quite a ceremony, eh? It didn’t end there. Melanie sat at the grand piano on stage while Devin took up his Cello. They performed “Liebestraume, Nocturne No. 3” by Liszt so beautifully Christy and I had tears in our eyes while we were trying to shoot.
The entire ceremony lasted about an hour and it was beautiful.
And, it still got better. After the reception and the family and group shots, Melanie and Devin walked through the university district with us enabling us to get some great shots of them on the streets in their full wedding attire.
Great ceremony, great day, great couple. I may have mentioned it once or twice on this blog, but, man, do I love doing what we do for a living.

Albums
June 15, 2007
Got to thinking; We’ve never shared an album with anyone other than the couple. So, here’s a couple we’ve done lately. Both of these are 11×14 hand crafted albums. We have them printed locally so we can control the quailty of the prints and Leather Craftsmen builds the actual album completely by hand over on the west coast.

Very productive 45 minutes
June 3, 2007

Another thing I really like about what we do is the friendships we develop with our couples. I had a little project I needed some shots for and Christina, one of our brides from last year, was kind enough to help me out.
She met me in downtown Tucson with her wedding dress. Desiree, her Maid of Honor, came along to help.
We spent about 45 minutes firing off quite a few shots. Christina was great, working with the camera like an old pro.
We got some great looks, and it we had a good time. Christina worked the camera as well as any model I shot back in my fashion days. And now, to top it all off, we get to meet with Christina and Skip (her husband) and hang out awhile so I can give them copies of the pictures.
This whole business is all about the good stuff in life; Love, making friends, making art, sharing, and enjoying every aspect of every moment. We couldn’t ask for anything better to be doing with our lives.
