Lisa and Mark had a very pretty wedding out at La Mariposa in Tucson, Arizona. We had a lot of fun shooting this one. It was like a fairytale wedding, complete with horse drawn carriage. It was a great day all around. If you would like to see their entire slideshow, click here.

It’s in the details

One of the things we feel is so important, and we really enjoy shooting, are the details. The little things that make up the day. It’s fun to look for the little things and create an image of something that might possibly have been seen as a part of the whole, but not appreciated as it’s own little work of art. We try hard to not let a single detail slip by us. Part of why we have so much fun doing what we do.

We shot a wonderful wedding for a good friend’s daughter. We had perfect weather, a fun couple, and an all around great day. Here’s a little slide show of a few of their images;

Had to throw up a couple quick ones from Mitali and David’s wedding last night. The ceremony was incredible. I’ll get more posted in a couple weeks. Congrats, you two, very nice wedding.

Just had to share this email

February 28, 2009

We shot a really nice wedding a few weeks ago. The couple was great to work with, everything was just great. Well, last night we got this email from the bride, Michelle, and, wow, what a great email for us! I had to put it here to share.

Thanks, Michelle, you made our day.

Here’s the email:

Christy and Frank
I wanted to send these along.  The are just a few of the comments we got from people who saw the photos you took of our wedding.  Again, it was such a pleasure to work with both of you and I am recommending you to ANYONE that crosses my path!

Big warm hugs,
Michelle

“What a LOVELY slide show of the wedding!  Who did all that for you?  The pictures were heavenly—I watched it twice and cried both times and even Cy who doesn’t usually gush over wedding photos was noticeably impressed.  It felt like a front row seat to everything—public and private.  Michelle was gorgeous, of course, but so were the boys and all their beautiful friends.”

“OH WOW!!!!     What a beautiful wedding!!!!  I have watched the slide show at least 5 times.  The photographers were amazing.  The pictures even show the daylight progression through the windows.  Gorgeous.  And I love how they captured the little touches like the locket and M&M’s and even details on the bridesmaids dresses….and somehow the personality of people showed through….hard to explain.”

“These pictures are so beautiful, I feel as if I was there.  What a wonderful wedding.”

“Incredible photos, Michelle!  Thanks for sending them along.  It was wonderful to relive that magical day!  Hope your honeymoon was a blast :)

“This is incredible!  You must be so pleased — your photographers really captured your most wonderful wedding.”

“What gorgeous pictures!”

“…absolutely gorgeous!!! Your wedding photos should be in a magazine they are SOOOOOOO good!!! : )”

We were just notified we have received Wedding Wire’s 2009 Bride’s Choice Award. Here’s the press release:

WeddingWire, the nation’s leading wedding technology company, just announced that Willo Art and Simon Photographic have won the 2009 Bride’s Choice Awards™!

In its inaugural year, the Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and honors vendors from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. That means: As a team, Willo Art and Simon Photographic are one of the very best wedding photographers in the country.

Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews.

“We are excited to launch this annual award program to honor high-performing vendors based solely on the experiences of our WeddingWire community,” according to Timothy Chi, WeddingWire’s Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s recipients have set the bar high, exhibiting excellent service and expertise in the wedding industry.”

We would like to sincerely like to thank our past clients for speaking on our behalf and helping us win the 2009 Bride’s Choice Award! You guys rock!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know Christy has joined a great group called the Wedding Chicks. They’re a very cool couple of women who have put together a website with everything any bride could want or need for their wedding day. Check it out when you have a chance. www.weddingchicks.com.

Being with friends is always a good thing. Melanie’s mom, Michelle, has been our friend for longer than I care to admit. This was a really special day for us. We also shot the wedding for three of the couples who are friends of Melanie and Michael, and I’ve known one of those brides, Mandy, since she was eight when we shot her for an ad for her dad’s store. Great friends, a great location (The Royal Palms in Phoenix), and a great wedding. It doesn’t get much better than that. If you would like to see Melanie and Michael’s entire slideshow click here.
